Step-by-step setup: accessibility permissions, keyboard shortcuts, and custom roles.
View GuideWright is an AI writing assistant for macOS. It provides three core functions you can trigger from any app via keyboard shortcuts or PopClip:
Wright is powered by leading AI models:
Custom Roles let you create specialized AI personas with their own system prompts. For example, you can set up a "Code Reviewer" role, a "Copywriter" role, or a "Translator" role — each behaves differently based on the instructions you define. Switch between roles instantly from the Quick View or Chat.
If you have PopClip installed, Wright adds actions to PopClip's popup menu. Select text in any app, and PopClip will show options to rewrite, translate, or chat — no keyboard shortcut needed. You can download the PopClip extension from Wright's Settings.
Yes. Wright does not collect or store your personal data. Your text is processed by the AI and the result is returned directly — Wright does not log or retain your content. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Wright requires macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later. It needs Accessibility permissions to read and replace selected text system-wide. The app is lightweight (~2.4 MB) and runs as a menu bar app.
Wright uses global keyboard shortcuts that work in any app. The default shortcuts can be customized in Settings → Shortcuts. Select text anywhere, press the shortcut, and the result appears instantly — you can copy, insert, or expand into a Chat session.
